Huddersfield Town and Saturday’s Championship visitors Watford are reported to be competing to take West Ham United midfielder Diego Poyet on loan.

The 19-year-old, who played under Town manager Chris Powell at Charlton Athletic last season, has already had a stint at the John Smith’s Stadium this term, playing twice.

Poyet has turned out four times for West Ham since moving from The Valley last summer, most recently as a substitute in Tuesday’s 1-1 FA Cup third-round draw at Everton.

West Ham are said to be open to another loan as they want the son of Sunderland manager Gus Poyet to keep developing.
