THE last team to score six goals at Old Trafford were . . . Huddersfield Town!

The date was September 10, 1930, when Clem Stephenson’s side won 6-0 thanks to hat tricks from Bob Kelly and the great Alex Jackson.

Town went on to finish fifth in the old First Division (now Premiership) while United were relegated in bottom place alongside Leeds.

Strangely enough, it was Jackson’s last match for Town before joining Chelsea – he made 203 senior appearances for the club and scored 89 goals.

Jackson’s most famous hat trick, of course, was the one he got for Scotland against England at Wembley in 1928.

The Scotland team were dubbed the ‘Wembley Wizards’ for their 5-1 win. Coincidentally, the England scorer was Bob Kelly!
