Mark Robins is confident Huddersfield Town defender Anthony Gerrard will be fit to face QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday.

The 27-year-old centre-back suffered a gashed eye in the 1-0 victory against Millwall at the John Smith’s Stadium and, after stitches, the wound became badly bruised.

Gerrard played the game with a bandage, then tape, around his head to protect the problem and Robins does not believe he will have a problem playing this weekend.

“He will be fine,” said the manager, who also has Joel Lynch back in training after a groin injury and ready to resume at Championship level.
