HUDDERSFIELD Town's teenage loan striker Benik Afobe has been counted out of tomorrow's League I away clash with Exeter City and England's Under 19 game against Germany at Chesterfield next Tuesday.
The 17-year-old has been struggling to shake off a knee problem since before Christmas and Town, alongside his parent club Arsenal, have decided that the injury needs to be addressed.
"Benik has had injections to help but, along with Arsenal, we have decided it is time to put this one to bed," said Town boss Lee Clark at this morning's Press conference before the team head to Devon,
"After having the injections the surgeon has said that Benik needs to rest for a couple of days, so he is not available for the weekend and we have spoken to Noel Blake and the England Under 19 set up and he will also miss Tuesday night's game.
"Benik has been playing and then struggling, having to miss training sessions, and we really want to give him the chance to make sure he returns 100 per cent fit."
