BENIK AFOBE will miss England’s Euro Under 19 Championship qualifying bid through injury.
It spells a double dose of disappointment for the 18-year-old striker, who suffered play-off heartache with Town on Sunday.
The on-loan Arsenal player tore a knee ligament during the 3-0 final defeat by Peterborough at Old Trafford.
He was to have joined Noel Blake’s international squad yesterday ahead of their elite qualifying round games against Montenegro, hosts Switzerland and Spain.
Now he will receive treatment and rest up ahead of his return to Arsenal in five weeks.
“The injury takes two to three weeks to heal, so I should be fine for pre-season,” said Afobe, who scored eight goals in 35 Town games.
