Huddersfield Town striker James Vaughan has had a blistering start to the 2013/14 season - bagging 11 goals in just 12 appearances.

The £600,000 former Norwich and Everton frontman added to his impressive tally against Middlesbrough last night (October 1) with a well taken 59th minute strike.

He opened his account for the season with two goals against Bradford City in the Capital One Cup on August 6, before adding another against QPR in the league four days later.

On August 17 he bagged a 4th away to Millwall.

But his finest performance - so far - came against Bournemouth on August 24, when he clinched a superb hat-trick at the John Smith's Stadium.

After claiming his 8th of the season away to Barnsley on August 31, the 25-year-old guided Town to a 2-1 victory over Charlton Athletic on September 17 with his 9th.

His 10th came against Blackpool in a 1-1 stalemate at home on September 27, with his 11th four days later away to Middlesbrough.

Vaughan's trademark corner-flag karate kick celebration - mimicked recently by former Town striker, Jordan Rhodes - has had fans on their feet in almost every game the front-man has played.

But Rhodes, who has now knocked in nine goals for new club Blackburn Rovers after an £8m move from the Terriers last year, still has a little work to do to match Vaughan's goals-to-games ratio.

A fine header against Watford last night - in his 13th season appearance - still leaves him one goal shy of double figures and two of Vaughan's 12 game haul.
