Huddersfield Town's Matt Crooks has joined Hartlepool United today - and could feature for them tonight.

The 20-year-old completed an Emergency Loan until November 17 and could make the trip to Accrington for the League 2 match this evening.

He will work under caretaker manager of former Town defender Sam Collins.

Crooks made his senior debut on the opening day of the Championship season at home to AFC Bournemouth playing at centre back where he was given a torrid time in the 4-0 defeat which spelled the end of Mark Robins' time as Town manager.

He has previously been on loan at FC Halifax Town in the Conference North during the 2011/12 season and at Evo-Stik League side Radcliffe Borough in 2012/13.

Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell said: “This loan spell at Hartlepool will be an excellent challenge for Matt. Hartlepool will be desperate for points and it puts Matt into a situation where winning really matters, which will be excellent for his development.”
