HUDDERSFIELD Town's Sean Scannell has vowed to “play dirty” as he prepares for Nottingham Forest tomorrow night (Tues).

But that has nothing to do with foul play – and everything to do with rap music!

With just a 48-hour turnaround to the crunch Championship clash at the City Ground it’s all about the three Rs for Scannell – rest, recuperation and rap.

Former Crystal Palace winger Scannell plans to pull out the iPod for a bit of musical therapy in the crucial countdown to the Forest game.

Number one choice on his iPod is rap group I Play Dirty, featuring his two big pals from Croydon, Krept and Konan.

Scannell said: “It’s difficult with the game coming so fast and it’s all about getting as much rest as possible.

“I plan to just chill out and take it easy and I’ll be listening to I Play Dirty.

“The game comes very quickly but we are professional footballers and that’s all part of the job.”

Scannell loved testing himself against Premier League opposition yesterday, shortly after former caretaker boss Mark Lillis spoke of him as a top-flight player in the making.

“It was a hard game,” said Scannell. “Wigan are a good team but I enjoyed the challenge.”

Lillis pledged to constantly remind Scannell to keep working on his game to ensure he succeeded in his top flight ambition.

Scannell added: “It was nice to hear that Mark thinks I could play in the Premier League and that’s certainly what I want to do.”

New boss Mark Robins has only taken his new squad for a couple of training sessions but Scannell said: “He is starting to get his ideas across and we have to listen to him.

“He hasn’t had time to change anything yet but I expect he will. He is very experienced and likes playing football and that suits my style. It’s going to be a really exciting time.”
