HUDDERSFIELD Town have had some top full-backs over the years, and certainly in the 1970s.

But who was the best on the right?

That’s part of the debate as all season we’re looking for your help to pick the best Town teams from each of the last five decades.

Each select side is divided into goalkeeper, right-back, left-back, centre-halves, left midfield, right midfield, central midfielders and strikers.

Every week we’ll give you a list of players to choose from for a specific position.

From here until next month, we’re going back to the 1970s and, this week, it’s the right-backs.

There’s six to pick from: Dennis Clarke and Alan Jones, who both played in the top flight, Grahame McGifford, Alan Sweeney, JIm Branagan and Mally Brown.

Choose the man from the list who you felt was best on the right side of defence.

Just place your choice and we’ll tell you who claimed the spot in next week’s Final Whistle.

There’s also a panel for comments, so tell us your memory of your choice.

Last week we asked you to choose a goalkeeper and Terry Poole who has already featured in the team of the sixties, was a clear favourite.

He polled 45% of the votes, ahead of Alan Starling (27%) and David Lawson (25%).

"He could kick with either foot and was simply solid and reliable, and was very unlucky with injuries," wrote one fan.

"He had the potential to go to the top," said another while a third termed the Chesterfield-born star "a class act".
