Huddersfield Town's hopes of an extended Capital One Cup run were ended last night after a 1-0 defeat away to Hull City.

Nick Proschwitz's 59th-minute goal was enough to see the Terriers off at the KC Stadium.

Despite the defeat, Town boss Mark Robins hailed some stand-out performances from a few young 'periphery' players - including teenager Duane Holmes.

With that in mind, we asked fans to rate the players' efforts - and find a silver-lining in last night's disappointing cup exit.

We could have nicked it, but the game time and experience gained by the U21 players was invaluable. Duane Holmes is a truly outstanding talent, he should be included in the first team squad and getting game time. Roll on Friday. Trojanhorse, Kirkburton

We should be proud of the four youngsters who played, as they were the ones who gave it their all. Duane Holmes was outstanding when he came on and should be given a chance in the first team, as should the other three. Stephen, PS

I did not attend the match because of work. I ask this question - is it a waste of time supporting football teams who make 19 changes? I believe this is a disgrace and teams should be made to play most of the first team. I can understand resting older players and team members who have slight injuries. Rodney, Lepton

The young players did Town proud, shame some of the regular 'first' team didn't! Duane Holmes has a very bright future, the lad lit the place up and competed well. Debra, Elland

Duane Holmes - a star in the making. Lea, Wakefield
