Adam Hammill could still be sent out on loan – despite featuring in both Huddersfield Town’s games so far this campaign.

The 27-year-old, who had a spell at Championship rivals Rotherham United last season, came off the bench against both Hull City, in Town’s Championship opener, and Notts County, in the Capital One Cup.

Because of injuries, Town were without Hammill’s fellow wide players Sean Scannell and Joe Lolley for both those games.

Hammill is in the final year of a contract signed when he moved from Wolves in 2013, and Powell said: “I never write anyone off, and while Adam could still be loaned somewhere, he is still our player.

He is paid to train and play for this club, and his attitude has been excellent.

“I have talked to Adam and told him where he stands, and he has accepted what I have said and got on with things. I have no qualms about using him.”
