Huddersfield Town say Ross Wilson will appear as planned at this week’s Patrons meeting after speculation linked their football operations chief with Premier League Southampton.

The Saints are seeking a replacement for Paul Mitchell, now Tottenham Hotspur’s head of recruitment and analysis.

Mitchell was credited with unearthing Southampton’s summer signings Graziano Pelle, Dusan Tadic and Sadio Mane, who have helped Ronald Koeman push his side up to third in the table.

Now the former Wigan Athletic player has completed a reunion with the former Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs.

Wilson, who joined Town in August 2012 after working for Watford and Falkirk, has previously been linked with West Bromwich Albion.

The 33-year-old joined Town’s board a year ago.

He and Town chief executive Nigel Clibbens will be the guests at the latest monthly Patrons meeting at PPG Canalside on Thursday (7.30).
