PETER JACKSON wants a couple of wide boys to stitch up Hartlepool!

The manager was concerned that Town didn't use the flanks enough during Saturday's 2-2 home draw with Doncaster.

And he wants his two outside midfielders, whoever they may be, to make more of a contribution when his promotion-chasing team aim to regain second spot at Victoria Park tomorrow night.

There's no doubting Town's potency at set-pieces in recent matches.

Three of their last four goals, including Martin McIntosh's and David Graham's efforts against Doncaster, have come from that route.

But with Andy Booth such an aerial commander and Graham ready to pick up any knockdowns, Jackson wants more quality crosses during open play.

Chris Brandon and Gary Taylor-Fletcher have been regular starters on each side of a four-man midfield of late.

But Jackson might ring the changes against struggling Pool, with Danny Schofield, fresh from signing a new two-year contract at the Galpharm, pushing for a recall.

He could also consider a return to his earlier-season full-back pairing of Andy Holdsworth on the right and Danny Adams on the left (David Mirfin and on-loan Dan Smith have been the men to start recently).

"I'm pretty set on my plans, but I won't be revealing them publicly until just before kick-off," said Jackson, whose side are unbeaten in five games but have drawn the last two.
