WOULD a 20-year-old Peter Jackson or Terry Yorath get into this Town side? Mark Robinson, Oakes

Jacko says: YES we would, no danger.

I would be captain and Taff would be vice-captain!

Funnily enough, I was captain at Bradford at 18 and, while I'm not sure what Taff was up to at that age, I know we were both very good!

HOW can you keep the players motivated to improve on this winning six-game run? Josef Szyszio, e-mail

Jacko says: ALL I will be doing is encouraging them to play as they have been because, if we live up to our standards, we will be a very hard team to beat.

We have been through all the highs and lows this season, so it's really a matter of doing what we've done recently and we should be okay.

It's great to have won the last six matches, but it doesn't mean we will automatically go down to Bristol Rovers tomorrow and pick up three points.

All records are there to be broken, but I believe that playing like we are we can go down to the Memorial Ground and pick up the win - and I'm sure the players believe it as well because they are full of confidence at the moment.

There is a lot of determination in our squad and we have certainly been doing a lot of things right over the past few weeks.

Really, since we had the hiccup at Macclesfield, the players have been fantastic.

They have responded superbly to that setback and they are playing now like Terry Yorath and myself know they can.

The spirit is there for all to see as well - the scenes when we won at York go to prove that - and it's just a matter of continuing to do the right things.

Our young players are doing well and our senior players are doing well and the team is operating as it should - not conceding goals and putting a few in at the other end around a lot of hard work.

Could using more substitutes (replacing players who are tiring) improve our goal difference? Look what happened with Mirfin! David, Dalton

Jacko says: I ONLY use substitutes when I really have to and it's fantastic when it works out like it did over at York.

Jon Newby was tiring and, while we were playing quite well and doing okay, it was just an opportunity to get Dave Mirfin on the pitch and see if he could make a difference.

You have to be ready to take the criticism if it backfires. Had York won the game, people would probably have been saying Newby should have been left on because he might have scored.

Those are the gambles you sometimes have to take.

I knew big Mirf had played up front in the Academy, but he did marvellously well when he went on and, with it being a tight game, it was even better to win.

ARE there any exciting new players in the lower age groups of the Academy who might come through and, can we have box nets at the Mac? Daz, Honley

Jacko says: THE obvious one who springs to mind is Nathan's brother, Tom Clarke.

When you have played in the Youth Cup side at 15 it's a fair indication you've got some ability, but we don't just start at 14 and 15 years of age.

The Academy has players from Under 9 upwards and a lot of work goes on behind the scenes with these age-group teams.

The Academy staff and coaches probably don't get the credit they deserve for bringing these lads through in the right way.

But you only have to look at how we've reaped the benefits in the first team this season to see how valuable the Academy is.

Playing these lads is also why we've attracted other players to the club. Anyone who proves they are good enough will get their chance and, if they do well, stay in.

On the box nets, I'm not bothered what we have as long as we score enough goals in them!

WOULD you consider playing John Thorrington behind the front two later in the season? Jacqueline Hughes, e-mail

Jacko says: JOHN has been unfortunate with injury and he hasn't been able to play more than four or five games at any stage.

He started the season well but, since then, he hasn't had a run with the first team or the Reserves and you need that consistency when you are playing catch-up on fitness.

John knows he is going to have to play extremely well to work his way back in, but we do want him back.

IT was great to see the squad players shaking hands with the team as they left the pitch on Sunday. How pleased are you with team spirit? Jennifer, Penistone

Jacko says: I'M very pleased with the spirit in the camp.

We don't take the squad lads on overnight trips for obvious reasons, but for any game within driving distance they all make the journey.

The theory behind it is that when the senior side are working, you don't want the squad lads sitting on the sofa at home and watching it on teletext. They are just as much a part of the club and the squad as the lads who are out on the pitch, so why not have them all there?

Everyone comes into the dressing room for the team talk and everyone comes in afterwards as well.

All those who haven't been playing also do a training session with Taff after the match, so it's a working day for them and the subs as well as the team.

It really just emphasises that we are all in this together, and there is no doubt the players are enjoying coming to their work at the moment.

MY favourite player is Anthony Lloyd. How did you feel when he scored against Boston, and how did he feel? Tracy Sanderson

Jacko says: I'M really proud of Lloydy.

He has had about five or six really good opportunities to score this season, so it was only a matter of time, but with it being such a tense match it was great.

Efe Sodje had broken the deadlock, but Lloydy's goal sealed it for us and it was a proud moment. I don't think I've ever seen Terry Yorath look more excited and delighted about a goal all season.

I know Lloydy was very excited and it was a proud moment for the family, who were watching.

I reckon he could get a good few goals, though, as this season and his career progresses because he's a good worker and a good learner.

HOW much do we practice our corner routines? Jonny, High Hoyland

Jacko says: ENOUGH to be the top scorers from corners in our division - with 10.

We always practice them on a Friday so they are fresh in the minds of the players on matchday.

I'm extremely pleased with how we are defending corners and set pieces, because I don't want to concede any free headers.

Attacking wise, I think the delivery we have had from Tony Carss, Robbie Edwards and now Danny Schofield has been excellent, and they have really invited lads to get on the end of things.

WOULD you consider taking someone off to stop them getting sent-off and thereby making more use of our substitutes? Martin, Manchester

Jacko says: YES. We did it with Lee Fowler at Macclesfield.

I have to say, though, that I'm very happy with the way our disciplinary record has improved in the last few weeks.

I was unhappy with Steve Yates' booking at York because I don't think it was anything near a yellow card, but we have cut down on the bookings and also on the sendings-off.

We had a real spate of red cards at one stage which was making life difficult for us, but we seem to have overcome that.

We've got Yates and Holdsworth on four bookings so far and Fowler is on eight alongside Jonathan Worthington.
