MANAGER Peter Jackson was "extremely proud" of Town's fine winning performance against Rotherham and conceded today his starting line-up is pretty much set.
Town won with two John Mullin own goals in last night's friendly at Millmoor and kept a first clean sheet of pre-season to take a very smooth step towards the League opener at Stockport a week on Saturday.
While Jackson includes trialists Steve Haslam and Akpo Sodje in tonight's team at Farsley Celtic (7.45), his first-team match-action preparations will be concluded at Macclesfield on Saturday (1.00).
Town's only injury worry at the moment is midfielder Lee Fowler, who has a knee problem, because Junior Mendes was training again today despite limping off near the end of last night's game with a heavily strapped right ankle.
Mendes - who impressed alongside Andy Booth - returned to do the warm-down with his teammates and Jackson explained:
"It was just a precaution to get Junior off and he's fine today.
"I was very pleased with him and the whole team last night, particularly in the second half when I thought we passed the ball better and were well on top.
"Playing against a side from the higher division, I was extremely proud of the manner in which we won the game.
"We knew we couldn't give Rotherham any time or space and the lads didn't disappoint me or the fans who turned up."
