Huddersfield Town striker James Vaughan is reportedly interesting Blackburn Rovers.

While the John Smith's Stadium club have told the injury-plagued frontman he won't be offered a new contract when his current deal expires at the end of this season, they are remaining tight-lipped on the link with the Ewood Park side.

Rovers manager Gary Bowyer, who is operating under a Financial Fair play embargo and could land Vaughan on a free transfer, is believed to
be a big fan of the former Everton and Norwich City player, who cost Town £600,000 two years ago.

He has scored 33 goals for Town, 14 of them coming during the loan stint from Norwich which preceded his permanent move in 2013.

Speaking about Vaughan earlier this week, Town boss Chris Powell said: “James Vaughan is paid to play for Huddersfield Town until he or I are told different.

Of course this is Dean’s club and he is entitled to say what he said.

“And if a player is fit and available, it’s up to me whether to put them in the 11 or 18, or not to select them.

Brighton were just starting to get on top and bringing James on helped us change that.

“We will wait and see what happens, but at this moment, he is here.

“He scored goals for me last season and I won’t dismiss him. I want to win games, and he can help me do that.”
