Jamie Paterson says he remains open to a permanent move from

Nottingham Forest to Huddersfield Town – thanks to head coach David Wagner.

Speaking after the defeat at Derby County, in which he made his 26th Town appearance and 18th start, the on-loan Forest forward, also believed to be a target of Brentford, said: “I have been crying out for a manager like this.

“I enjoy playing for him, as do all the lads at the club, and he is showing faith in me.

“I am enjoying my football at the moment and that wasn’t happening at Nottingham Forest.”

Asked about a possible permanent switch, the former Walsall player, 24, said: “It is down to the two clubs rather than myself.

“I think negotiations have been going on but what stage they are at I don’t really know.

“But as long as I am enjoying my football I am happy and we will see what happens.
