Joe Lolley and Murray Wallace are back at Huddersfield Town – and in contention to play at Reading.

The pair have returned from loan spells at League I Scunthorpe United as boss Chris Powell seeks to avoid a third straight Championship defeat.

Centre-back Wallace’s second month on loan at Glanford Park ended with Saturday’s home game against Barnsley.

The 22-year-old made his 13th appearance, and while he conceded a penalty, it was missed by Sam Winnall as the Iron won 2-0.

Scunthorpe, managed by ex-Town boss Mark Robins and ninth in the table, had wanted to keep the former Scotland Under 21 player for longer, but the request has been turned down.

Forward Lolley’s loan was extended into a second month last week, but Town had a 24-hour recall clause, which has been used.

The 23-year-old, who has played six times (three starts) for the Iron, was an unused substitute against Barnsley.

Lolley, a £350,000 signing from Kidderminster Harriers in January 2014, has made two appearances from the bench for Town this season and played 27 times (four starts) in all, scoring four goals.

Wallace, bought for £300,000 from Falkirk in 2012, scored one of his four Town goals in his only appearance so far this season, in the 2-1 home Capital One cup first-round defeat by Notts County.

He has made 41 starts and 17 appearances from the bench in all.
