FORMER Town wingman John Thorrington has left Grimsby by mutual consent.

The American international failed to impress the coaching staff at Blundell Park in his brief spell with the Second Division club.

The 24-year-old left the McAlpine in March after three years at Town.

But he only played three times for Grimsby, the last being from the bench in the 3-0 defeat by QPR at Loftus Road a month ago.

Conference club Accrington have released Huddersfield-based midfielder Dean Calcutt and Andy Gouck, the man whose goal put Town out of this season's FA Cup.
