Jonathan Hogg is the winner of the Examiner Huddersfield Town Player of the Month for March.

We asked you to cast your votes for three nominees on our Twitter and Facebook pages based on your ratings across the month and you have chosen the Town destroyer ahead of fellow midfielder Jacob Butterfield and winger Joe Lolley.

Having missed a large chunk of January due to a thigh injury but is beginning to make up for lost time once more having started each of the five games during the past four weeks, as well as completing 90 minutes in three of those.

Hogg was your star man on only one occasion in March, coming during the 2-0 defeat to Fulham last time out as he tried to drive his side forward in vain but his rating of 7.4 in the 2-2 draw with Norwich City was only surpassed by goalscorer that night Ishmael Miller (7.7).

Those performances helped him earn a rating of 5.44 overall from Town fans, which was actually lower than both Butterfield (5.5) and Lolley (5.97) but it seems his two most recent appearances have stood out above anyone else.

Lolley was the only other player from the contenders to secure a highest rating and did so on two occasions, as he won the man-of-the-match award with a rating of 6.7 for his goalscoring cameo against Birmingham City and impressed most with a 5.9 against Rotherham United .

Butterfield's highest rating, meanwhile, was a 6.8 against Norwich City when he delivered both assists for Miller and James Vaughan's goals against his former club.

Lolley finished second after securing 23% of the vote ahead of Butterfield (18%), but Hogg was the clear winner for Town fans with 59%.

February winner Alex Smithies did not figure in the voting but only missed out by 0.2 on his average rating across the month behind Hogg and was your fourth-best performer overall.

Thank you to everyone who voted!
