JORDAN RHODES reckons brave defending helped Town earn their first Championship point – and wants to add three more against Burnley.

The 22-year-old’s late penalty secured a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, who hit the woodwork twice, had one cleared off the line and were denied by two brilliant Smithies saves

“A few times the defenders chucked their bodies on the line,” said Rhodes.

“The chance in the first half for Dexter Blackstock – first Alex saved it and his second chance only hit the bar because Adam Clayton slung his body at it and deflected it for a corner.

“We’d like to think we’ve shown people we can compete, and it would be great to win now against Burnley.”
