HARTSHEAD, who desperately need points to avoid the drop in Division I of the Under 11s, were unlucky to be held to a draw by Kirkburton.

Alex Walker, Luke Burrell and George Purdy notched up a healthy score for the home side but replies from Kirkburton’s Jake Lynn, Josh Roberts and James Hill left Hartshead with just one point from a 3-3 draw.

In Division 4A of the Under 11s, Skelmanthorpe added to their promotion hopes with a solid victory over Westend Tigers.

James O’Toole netted for the Tigers but replies from Caleb O’Neil, Morgam Lecomber, Adam Wadsworth and Joe Lockwood secured another three points to keep Skelmanthorpe top of the division.

Kexborough Under 11s notched their 14th win from as many games to retain top spot in Division 4B.

Goals from Lewis Martin, James Cosgrove, Elis Tolson, Kane Hall and a Lewis Bray hat trick proved more than enough to defeat Rastrick 7-1.

Honley’s Under 12 title hopes were given a three-point lift when they grabbed a 5-2 victory at Meltham.

James Sunderland scored twice as Meltham pushed their visitors all the way but replies from Cameron Sharp (2), Conor Mahoney, Antonino Lungo and Jack Davies secured maximum points to keep Honley just three points behind leaders Norristhorpe.

Heckmondwike Under 12s grabbed an important win over fellow Division II relegation rivals Netherton.

Matthew Hunter was on target for Netherton but a goal each for Angus Gale and Jack McDermott gave Heckmondwike a narrow 2-1 win.

In the same division, YMCA got the better of Wyke Wanderers in an eight-goal thriller at Laund Hill to keep their hopes of a return to Division One alive.

Wyke’s three goals were scored by Callum Philipson, Jack Wakeling and Joe Walsh but replies from William Burley (2), Thomas Helliwell, Lewis Fitzpatrick and Toby Womersley were enough secure a vital three points for YMCA.

Another side chasing hard for promotion are Netherton Under 15s, who moved second in Division IV with a solid victory over Penistone.

Goals from Joshua Robinson-Wilson, Greg Hustler, Simeon John, Jacob Barrett and an Adam Thompson hat trick provided Netherton with a 7-2 win and a valuable three points.

Deighton Under 16s, who are struggling to find the form that brought them the Under 15 title last season, came out on top in a high-scoring game against Meltham.

Isaac Oldroyd, Miles Whitworth and Chris Melotte netted for Meltham but replies from Cliffroy Creighton (2), Connor (2) and Clive Stewart sealed an 8-3 win for Deighton.

In Division II, a goal from Josh Blackburn and a Joe Martin hat trick gave Skelmanthorpe a fine 4-1 home victory over Ossett Town.

Skelmanthorpe’s win over the league leaders keeps them well positioned for promotion.

There was no change at the top of the Under 17s as all three of the leading sides won.

Goals from Sylbert Stewart (2), Jack McDonagh and Mitch Hirst secured a 4-1 win for Bay Athletic at Clifton Rangers.

Dylan Brett scored for the Meltham as they tried hard to upset North Gawber’s title chase but the joint league leaders ran out 2-1 winners in the end.

And Dalton Dynamoes retained third spot thanks to a solid victory at Uppermill.

Joe Dunstan, Nawfal and Daniel Simpson scored to give the Dynamoes a 3-0 win.

Upperthong’s Under 17 season continues to improve dramatically.

After picking up just one point from their first six games, the Holme Valley side have now dropped only two points in their last eight games.

Four goals from Luke Ellis-Craven and one each for Ryan Sylvester and Ryan Smith sealed a comfortable 6-0 victory over Mount Pleasant.

AFC Emley’s Adam Palk, Edward Parsons and Josh Senior all hit the target as their Under 18 side notched up their seventh win of the season over Wombwell.

It was a gloomy day for RCD teams playing County Cup games.

Howden Clough went out of the Under 12 County Cup at the quarter-final stage by the odd goal in seven to Leeds-based Colton JFC.

Hepworth United were just one game away from reaching the Sheffield Under 13 County Cup final, but their two goals were not enough as Handsworth JFC won the tie 5-2.

And it was a similar story in the Manchester Under 14 County Cup where 3D Dynamos went down 4-1 to Northside in the semi-finals.
