WITH just three games of the season remaining, Northowram are still hoping to take the Under 12 Division IV title.

But rivals Uppermill still hold a one-point advantage and they will have to slip up if Northowram are to pip them at the post.

Northowram’s latest victory came at the expense of Westend who were beaten 8-0.

Despite being under pressure from the start, Westend managed to keep the scoreline blank until the 20th minute when a speculative Tom Gomersal shot from 20 yards found its way into the top corner.

Felix Harriott, Billy Nqobile, Josh Bonner and keeper Jake Rushworth put up a tremendous defence as Northowram piled on the pressure, but they were unable to stop Harry Doody adding a second for the visitors just before half time.

Sam Robinson and Sol Stansfield tried hard to make an impact on the Northowram goal as the second half got under way but Westend finally crumbled as Northowram ran in six further goals from Smith, Doody, Scholes, Walkington and Gomersal, who completed his hat trick.

Linthwaite Under 15s took a step closer to securing the Second Division title with a close victory at Greetland.

With just three games to play, a meeting with Hall Green Unitd next Sunday would have taken on a different aspect if Linthwaite had failed against Greetland but, despite two goals from the home side, goals from Jack Cooper, Liam Moran and Ben Thornton secured a vital three points for Linthwaite.

Meltham Under 15s kept their Third Division promotion hopes alive with a home victory over YMCA.

The Laund Hill side were unable to find a reply as goals from Michael Walsh and Darius Moses secured a 2-0 win for Meltham.

Hartshead Under 13s hopes of moving up to the top division were given a boost when goals from Joel Poskitt, Will Bennett, Nial Rhodes and McCulloch (2) gave them a comfortable 5-1 victory over promotion rivals Penistone.

But, with Penistone still sitting just one point behind, Hartshead cannot afford any slip-ups in their last four games.

In the same division, Deighton retained top spot with victory at Batley.

Goals from Tom Lowbridge, Anthony Riley and Aqeel Khan secured another three points for the leaders.

Battyeford’s chase for the Under 12 Division III title remains on course following their win over Dalton Dynamoes.

The visitors were unable to pierce the Mirfield side’s defence as goals from Charlie Edmundson and a Joe Taylor hat trick ensured a 4-0 victory for Battyeford to keep them on level points with leaders Drighlington, who have a game in hand.
