CUP action took centre stage in the Huddersfield RCD League.

While the next four weeks will determine the destination of the League trophies, all but one of the cup finalists are now known.

Seven semi-finals were played on Sunday at Leeds Road Playing Fields.

Honley took on Savile Town in the Under 11 cup and with only a Muhammed Aswat strike separating the two sides at half-time there was still every chance for either side to snatch victory.

Honley were unable to find the net and a further two goals from Ismail Noorat settled the issue in Savile Town’s favour 3-0.

The Dewsbury side now go on to meet Norristhorpe in the final.

Relegated at the end of last season, YMCA have bounced back in style this time around.

Unbeaten at the top of Division II, the Laund Hill side also progressed into the Under 14 cup final with a solid victory over fellow second division side Kirkburton.

Liam Haigh found the net twice for Kirkburton but it was not enough as strikes from Bradley Hall (2), George Turton, Alex Tattersley and James Wensley secured a 5-2 victory for YMCA who now face a meeting with first division Halifax Irish.

Halifax Irish held a 2-0 half time lead over HAFC in their Under 14 semi-final thanks to a goal each for Adam Whittaker and James Denny and, although an own goal and a Ben Keegan penalty saw HAFC fight back after the break, a second Whittaker strike sealed a 3-2 victory for Halifax Irish.

YMCA were equally successful in the Under 15 competition but, this time only a single Jem Brogan-Ellis goal denied HAFC who were unable to find the net.

YMCA now face a meeting with Hartshead in the final.

The last of the days semi-finals was between Under 17 league leaders Bay Athletic, and BPA Juniors.

Goals from Luke Walker, Brandon Smith, Sylbert Stewart and Jack McDonagh sealed a 4-2 victory for Bay who now meet title rivals Rastrick in what promises to be a classic final.

The cup semi-finals are not finished yet as Sunday sees 12 teams hoping to book places in the Huddersfield FA Minor Cup finals.
