TOWN Ladies produced their worst performance of the season with a poor display against a young and lively Leeds Carnegie Development team, losing 6-0.
Town started brightly and had plenty of possession but they found it hard to break down the solid Leeds defence.
Gradually Leeds started take control with their slick passing and movement and Town had to thank goalkeeper Laura Carter for keeping them in the game with a series of good saves.
But, goals on 25 and 40 minutes put the hosts 2-0 up at half-time.
Town were no better in the second half and gradually capitulated with Carter named Town’s player of the match for keeping the Leeds score in single figures.
There was better news for Town reserves who won 3-1 against Collingham Ladies.
Town went behind after 10 minutes but Dawn Kellett equalised from the penalty spot and she also put Town 2-1 ahead before half-time. In the second half the win was sealed with a long range shot from Claire Townend.
On Sunday the reserves host Lepton Highlanders at Grange Moor (1.30). The Under 12s beat Norristhorpe 6-1 despite it not being one of their better peformances.
On target for Town was Siobhan McCauley, Ebony Allison, Lucy Ellis and a hat trick from Rebecca Moore.
Town’s player of the match was Abby Sanderson for her excellent defensive play and distribution.
