Former Huddersfield Grammar School student Campbell started out at Manchester United.

He made four appearances for the Old Trafford club and had loans at Royal Antwerp, Hull City and Tottenham Hotspur before a £3.5m move to Sunderland in 2009.

After a stint at Cardiff City, he joined Palace the summer before last.

Campbell has made only five starts and nine appearaces in all this season, scoring once.

His sole England outing was against Holland in 2012.
