FIRST DIVISION Under 11 strugglers Lepton United needed extra time to overcome Division II side Brighouse in their first round game.

Thomas Womersley (2), Timothy Taylor, Lee Ainley, Chris Hallas, David Tunstall and Harry Jagger were on target for Lepton in an epic 7-5 win.

Third Division Kirkburton pulled off a fine win at Dewsbury Rangers in their Under 12 first round Cup encounter. The Second Division side scored through Sam Shaw but Thomas Halton and Daniel Jenkins made sure Kirkburton were in the hat for the second round draw.

In the same age group, Division III side Skelmanthorpe tasted defeat for the first time this season when they were unable to find a reply to Josh Womersley (2) and Declan McGivern goals as First Division Lepton Highlanders proved too strong.

Second Division Longcroft Lions moved into the second round of the Under 14 cup with a fine 4-1 win over First Division Thornhill. Jack Ghee, Chris Senior, Alex Trowell and Shaun Smith scored for the Lions.

In the Under 15 competition, title chasing Dalton Dynamoes proved too strong for fellow First Division Shipley Tigers.

Tigers scored three times but goals from Michael Flowers (2), Thomas Parker, Craig Smith, Kurnan Spencer and Robert Donaldson led Dalton to a comfortable 6-3 win.

Kirkheaton's Under 17s were another side to beat higher division opposition when two goals from Lane were enough to overcome First Division Gomersal 2-1.

In the Under 18 Cup, Netherton's unbeaten start to the season continued when fellow title rivals Liversedge were unable to find a reply to Jordan's single strike to give Netherton a 1-0 victory
