PETER JACKSON celebrated fifth place in the table today and told his Town squad: "Let's keep on going!"
The manager watched Pawel Abbott grab a hat trick as Town won on Saturday for only the third time in 17 visits to Vale Park over the last 30 years.
He studied the video again before training today and commented: "If we carry on playing like that then we've got nothing to fear.
"The second half, particularly, was excellent from the whole team and I told the lads at half time that if we lifted it just 10% we would win the game.
"That's exactly what they did, we played with great creativity and everyone joined in superbly.
"I've always said, though, that the confidence to do that comes from keeping clean sheets.
"I never thought Vale were going to score and the lads showed again what they are capable of doing.
"It was a very good win and we've now set our stall out in this division, so it's important we keep going."
Jackson believes Town will be fired-up for a third straight win when Barnsley visit the Galpharm on Saturday.
"We were solid at the back, creative in midfield and sharp up front, so it was a real team effort and one to give us a lot of confidence," said Jackson, who reported Efe Sodje's thigh injury is not serious.
"Pav is a tremendous prospect and I'm delighted with his goals, but as I said on Saturday, I'm more pleased with the excellent team performance than with any individual.
"Having said that, Chris Brandon is looking very impressive. He is one of those players who never says die and he's hitting top form at the right time."
