Huddersfield Town left-back Paul Dixon has urged his team-mates to produce an improved performance at Sheffield United this evening as Mark Robins' side look to recover from a pre-season setback at Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

Dixon played the full 90 minutes in the left-wing-back position for Town at Glanford Park during the 1-0 reverse and believes the club must step things up a notch against the Blades after a toothless display in front of goal.

After the game, Dixon said: “We know it’s pre-season and, ultimately, the results don’t really matter because there aren’t three points to play for, but we still need to perform a bit better than we did on Saturday.

“The most important thing at the moment is to get fitness into our legs, but we also want to perform to breed confidence going into the season.

“That’s why it will be great to get straight back into things against Sheffield United and hopefully we’ll put in a good shift."
