Australia take on Syria today in the first leg of the World Cup qualifying play-off double-header.

Aaron Mooy is set to start for the Socceroos, with Ange Postecoglou's men looking to take an away win in Malaysia back to Sydney next Tuesday.

If Australia can edge past Syria this international break, only one more two-legged play-off will stand between them and the World Cup finals in Russia next summer.

Should they get through, Mooy could become the first Town player since 1962 to represent the Terriers on the World's greatest stage - possibly along with Danish hopefuls Jonas Lossl and Mathias Zanka.

Here we'll bring you all the updates as the Town midfielder looks to help steer Australia closer to a fourth successive World Cup finals.
