Huddersfield Town entertain Bristol City at the John Smith's Stadium looking to gain their tenth SkyBet Championship win of the season.

After not winning in their last five outings, it was a much improved performance in the 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers away last weekend.

Despite dominating for the full 90 minutes, having 70% possession and 29 shots on goal, David Wagner's men were unable to get a second goal to seal a victory that would have been warranted.

Town welcome back full-back Tommy Smith after serving a one-match suspension but Mark Hudson (hamstring) and winger Sean Scannell (ankle) remain out.

For Bristol City, on-loan Wales defender Adam Matthews is fit again but midfielder Gary O'Neil is the visitors' only concern, with a damaged toe.

Bringing you all the pre-match news and extensive match comment and analysis is Blake Welton with expert opinion as ever from Doug Thomson – so you won't miss a thing!

Official Attendance

Today’s official attendance has just been given as 18,343 (588 from Bristol City).

  • Share

Substitution

90+1 Minutes: The third and final substitution for David Wagner’s men sees Jack Payne replace Nahki Wells.

  • Share

Added Time

There is a minimum of five minutes, yes FIVE minutes to be added on at the end of this half....I can’t take too much more of this!!

  • Share

Just Over...

88 Minutes: The ball is cleared but all Town at the minute - which is great - the long it stays in the Bristol City half the less chance there is for an equaliser. As they say, the best form of defence is attack!

  • Share

87 Minutes

Still 2-1 to Huddersfield Town who have a corner....C’Mon Lads, lets put this to bed please!!

  • Share

Booking

84 Minutes: Kachunga sees yellow for a foul just inside the Bristol City half.

  • Share

Town Substitution

83 Minutes: Martin Cranie comes on for Rajiv van La Parra - good call, the Dutchman had ran out of steam....

  • Share

Bobby Reid

82 Minutes: The game is on a knife-edge at the minute - end-to-end means that Town could easily get a third or concede an equaliser. Bristol City substitute Bobby Reid has come on and added real zest to the Robins’ backline - Town’s defence just about dealing though.

  • Share

Rajiv van La Parra

He’s having a mare in the last 10 minutes - giving the ball away too often, time for a change Mr. Wagner!

  • Share

Stat Attack

Don’t speak too soon Dan!

  • Share

Break In Play

72 Minutes: Michael Hefele and Rajiv van La Parra are both down receiving treatment after hefty challenges. Of course, nothing given from the referee!

  • Share

Thunderbolts!

71 Minutes: Town have two cracking efforts - van La Parra unleashes a shot that is blocked for a corner while Fielding makes a fantastic save from an Aaron Mooy thunderbolt.

Positive play from Town - they are looking for the killer third!

  • Share

Substitutions Galore

69 Minutes: The final changes for Bristol City - Marlon Pack and Aaron Wilbraham are replaced by Gary O’Neil and Bobby Reid while Philip Billing comes on for Town in place of Kasey Palmer.

  • Share

Penalty...Oh Wait!!

66 Minutes: I forgot, Town don’tever get penalties....the referee gives a free-kick as he deems Kachunga to be brought down just outside the area. Up steps Aaron Mooy but his shot is deflected off the wall and wide.

All Town

62 Minutes: The home side are really buoyed by that goal - it’s all Town now as a great cross from Tommy Smith causes chaos in the Bristol City defence but Flint just about gets in front of Wells to head clear.

As ever though, need another!!

  • Share

Substitution

60 Minutes: First change of the game sees Luke Freeman replaced by Joe Bryan...

  • Share

Huddersfield Town 2 Bristol City 1

58 Minutes: Bit of justice as a goalkeeping blunder from Bristol City’s Frank Fielding allows Wells to rob the ball from him and tap into an empty net.

  • Share

Justice Is Served!!

GET IN THERE NAHKI LAD!!! JUSTICE IS SERVED. TOWN GO 2-1 UP!! C’MON BOYS, LETS MAKE SURE THIS LOT GET NOTHING FROM THIS GAME!!

  • Share

Frustration

57 Minutes: The opening second-half drama has really upset Town’s rhythm so far but they are still looking the better side. Home side are very very annoyed and frustrated by this official as well.

  • Share

(Angry) Fan Reaction

  • Share

Unbelievable!!

48 Minutes: Frank Fielding handles the ball outside the box under pressure from Wells - and you know what, after much dalliance and deliberation, Keith Stroud only books the keeper.

Clearly this whistler is intent on making a name for himself today - and certainly not getting any Christmas card from West Yorkshire this year.

A complete joke and embarrassment to officiating football matches.

  • Share

Sides Back Out

Both sides are back out and the second half is about to get underway - boos for the referee on his return. C’Mon Town!!

  • Share

HT: Huddersfield Town 1 Bristol City 1

Referee Keith Stroud blows the whistle for the end of the first 45 minutes - and he’s met by a chorus of boos from the home fans.

They are not happy with his performance in the first half to say the least.

  • Share

Added Time

At least three minutes to be added on at the end of this half!

  • Share

Penalty???!!

43 Minutes: Town appeals are waved away as Wells goes down in the box after a collision with Flint. Lots of challenges going unpunished at the moment and Town fans feel aggrieved.

Dear Santa

Don’t we all Mel!!!
