It's a return to the John Smith's Stadium for the first time in over a fortnight as Huddersfield Town entertain Nottingham Forest.

Another bumper crowd is expected for this Boxing Day encounter as David Wagner's men look to build on the momentum of three wins in a week before Christmas.

The home win over Bristol City was followed by impressive back-to-back away victories at Burton Albion and Norwich City ahead of a ten day break after the Carrow Road win.

Town have experienced mixed fortunes against Forest – after a run of eight league games without a win, the Terriers winning three of their last four against today's visitors.

Captain Mark Hudson could make his return from a hamstring injury that has kept him out since the end of November while Joe Lolley is also back in training after being sidelined since August.

For the visitors, strikers Britt Assombalonga and Nicklas Bendtner are pushing for a return but defender Damien Perquis is a doubt as he continues to recover from a jaw operation.

Bringing you all the pre-match news and extensive match comment and analysis is Blake Welton with expert opinion as ever from Doug Thomson – so you won't miss a thing!

Signing Out

Doug’s just gone down to speak to David Wagner so on that note I will sign out from today’s LIVE Blog in what has been another good day to be a Huddersfield Town fan.

The pre-Christmas momentum continues unabated as Town recorded their fourth successive league win to strengthen their position in the top six of the SkyBet Championship.

Next up are struggling Blackburn Rovers at the John Smith’s Stadium at the slightly earlier time of 12.30pm on Saturday.

Until then, keep following the Examiner website, the Examiner Town Facebook page and @ExaminerHTAFC for all the latest Town news, views and opinion.

Worried??

76 Minutes: A free-kick is delivered into the Forest box but Michael Hefele can’t get his shot away before Mooy blasts over the bar.

Appreciate it’s a set-piece but does The Hef really have to go so far upfield for it when Town are winning and prone to the counter-attack? Just saying...

Britt Assombalonga

HT: Huddersfield Town 0 Nottingham Forest 1

The referee blows for the end of the first 45 minutes - and it’s been a low-key game so far from both sides with Pereira’s bit of luck the only difference between the sides at the break.

Both fans and players seem a bit lethargic to be honest - too much Turkey on Christmas Day perhaps?
