It's a return to the John Smith's Stadium for the first time in over a fortnight as Huddersfield Town entertain Nottingham Forest.

Another bumper crowd is expected for this Boxing Day encounter as David Wagner's men look to build on the momentum of three wins in a week before Christmas.

The home win over Bristol City was followed by impressive back-to-back away victories at Burton Albion and Norwich City ahead of a ten day break after the Carrow Road win.

Town have experienced mixed fortunes against Forest – after a run of eight league games without a win, the Terriers winning three of their last four against today's visitors.

Captain Mark Hudson could make his return from a hamstring injury that has kept him out since the end of November while Joe Lolley is also back in training after being sidelined since August.

For the visitors, strikers Britt Assombalonga and Nicklas Bendtner are pushing for a return but defender Damien Perquis is a doubt as he continues to recover from a jaw operation.

Next up are struggling Blackburn Rovers at the John Smith’s Stadium at the slightly earlier time of 12.30pm on Saturday.

Stick with us though as we bring you all the best post-match reaction and analysis!!!

Attendance

The tannoy has just announced an attendance of 22,100 for today’s game with 1,541 making the journey from Nottingham. Excellent support once again.

Added Time

The referee indicates another four minutes additional time to be played...

He's Off!!!

89 Minutes: Michael Mancienne sees red for a second yellow card - stopping a throw-in from being taken before throwing the ball down in frustration.

Final Sub

88 Minutes: Rajiv van La Parra is replaced by Martin Cranie.

So Close!!

86 Minutes: Jack Payne goes one-on-one with the Forest keeper but Stojkovic does just about enough to put him off and the ball goes agonisingly wide.

Another One...

85 Minutes: This time substitute Lam goes into the book for a foul on Van La Parra as he looked to counter-attack.

Booking

83 Minutes: Matt Mills goes in the book for the visitors after a professional foul on Jack Payne as he looked to break for Town.

Trendy Town?

Muzzy Return

81 Minutes: Former Town winger Mustapha Carayol comes on for Joe Worrall - he receives a few boos surprisingly. He wasn’t that bad for us was he?

Forest Change

78 Minutes: Ben Osborn, who took a knock minutes earlier, is replaced by Thomas Lam.

Worried??

76 Minutes: A free-kick is delivered into the Forest box but Michael Hefele can’t get his shot away before Mooy blasts over the bar.

Appreciate it’s a set-piece but does The Hef really have to go so far upfield for it when Town are winning and prone to the counter-attack? Just saying...

Britt Assombalonga

73 Minutes: He’s been quiet since he came on but good movement from Forest’s Bendtner gives the forward an opportunity on the area of the box but he curls over.

Wide of the Mark!

71 Minutes: Lichaj’s long throw bounces around the area before Matty Cash blazes wide for Nottingham Forest.

70 Minutes

And it’s still Huddersfield Town 2 Nottingham Forest 1. All Town at the moment as Forest are really struggling to deal with the wind in the second half....

Lady Luck

She may be smiling down on us today with those two goals but who cares - we’re due a bit of good fortune I reckon!

Forest Sub

63 Minutes: First change for Forest - Britt Assombalonga comes on for Pereira.

Huddersfield Town 2 Nottingham Forest 1

59 Minutes: Just as we clear up who scored (or didn’t) Town’s first goal, David Wagner’s men take the lead - through another own goal!!!

Rajiv van La Parra’s cross is diverted into his own net by Michael Mancienne as he tries to slide in to stop the delivery into the box.

Huddersfield Town 1 Nottingham Forest 1

53 Minutes: The tannoy announcer says it was Nahki Wells with the goal but it will have to go down as an own goal from Forest keeper Vladimir Stojkovic - Kasey Palmer’s header striking the bar from Holmes-Dennis’ corner and it ricochets off Stojkovic into the net.

TOWN GOAL!!

NAHKI WELLS FIRES IN AN EQAULISER FOR TOWN AFTER A MELEE IN THE BOX! GET IN THERE TOWN!!!

Yellow Card

52 Minutes: A low-key opening to the second half, even the North Stand Loyal seem a bit muted today.

Michael Mancienne has just gone into the book for pulling back Kasey Palmer as he drove forward towards goal.

Second Half

We’re back in position and Huddersfield Town get the second half underway. C’mon Town!!

HT: Huddersfield Town 0 Nottingham Forest 1

The referee blows for the end of the first 45 minutes - and it’s been a low-key game so far from both sides with Pereira’s bit of luck the only difference between the sides at the break.

Both fans and players seem a bit lethargic to be honest - too much Turkey on Christmas Day perhaps?
