Since the 1-0 away victory at Ipswich Town on October 1, David Wagner's side have endured a dismal run of form, picking up only seven points from a possible 21.
Despite this, Town remain in the top six and will be buoyed by the fact they have lost only once at the John Smith's Stadium this season – a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday.
LAST TIME OUT: Huddersfield Town 0 Wigan Athletic, 16.09.14
Wigan on the other hand travel to West Yorkshire in the bottom three and without a win and looking to record a first win under new boss Warren Joyce.
The visitors gained a valuable point with a resolute display at Barnsley last weekend but the draw proved costly – on-loan goalkeeper Adam Bogdan later being ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.
Veteran Jussi Jaaskelainen is likely to deputise while Latics captain Craig Morgan is suspended after picking up five yellow cards.
David Wagner's men are likely to be without Jack Payne through a knee injury while Harry Bunn is still recovering from a hamstring strain.

FT: Huddersfield Town 1 Wigan Athletic 2
The referee blows the final whistle and it’s greeted by a chorus of boos here.....the home faithful are not happy with that.
And who can really blame them? It’s the same old problems for David Wagner’s side and they seem not to be learning their lessons week in, week out.
Keeper Comes Up!
90+3 Minutes: Last minute and Town’s goalkeeper Danny Ward goes up for it! But it’s another poor delivery into the box and the stopper is left scrambling back into his own half!
90+1 Minutes: Tommy Smith whips a ball into the box but Billing can’t get his header on target. Not long left.
And there is at least 4 minutes additional time to be added - but Town are struggling to find a breakthrough here...
84 Minutes: Town throwing everything at Wigan in the final minutes - a great block by Latics full-back Stephen Warnock denies Kasey Palmer!
83 Minutes: Third and final substitution for Wigan Athletic sees Wildschut replaced by Craig Davies. That’s a slight relief for Town - the Dutchman has rung rings around the Town defence tonight.
All Town but still no breakthrough....the clock is ticking!!
78 Minutes: Nathan Byrne is replaced by Nick Powell for Wigan Athletic.
76 Minutes: That would have been it for Town - another break by Wildschut sees the Dutchman turn Stankovic and Schindler before Michael Jacobs curls over the bar...
72 Minutes: Tommy Smith is booked for a foul and will miss Saturday’s game away to Blackburn Rovers.
72 Minutes: Goalscorer Reece Burke is replaced by Dan Burn - he trudges off very slowly....nice to see the Latics already time wasting with nearly 20 minutes still to go!
69 Minutes: No sooner does he collect the ball and Billing hit’s a half-volley - it’s blocked though while Kachunga goes down in the box twice. Still nothing given as it’s all Town pressure now!
66 Minutes: Philip Billing replaces Jonathan Hogg....Town could really do with another Thunderbolt strike from the youngster tonight!
62 Minutes: Wells goes down in the area but nothing is given! Surely that was a penalty!
This looks like it is going to be one of those nights for the Town faithful....
61 Minutes: Wigan’s Wildschut again terrifies Town’s defence with his direct running but this time the angle is tight and his shot goes wide.

59 Minutes: It’s been all Huddersfield Town since the equaliser but once again they have been undone by a breakaway goal - Yanic Wildschut collecting a long ball over the Town defence in the centre circle and racing clear to coolly slot it passed Danny Ward.
The enforced substitution has done well so far...
53 Minutes: Urged on by the crowd after that equaliser, Mooy strikes from 30 yards out but it’s straight down the throat of Jussi Jaaskelainen.

We’ve just been chatting over on our Facebook Page and the youngster is definitely one who could come on and make a difference BUT with two forced changes already, David Wagner is already short of options....
