Huddersfield Town travel across the Pennines to face Lancashire side Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium today.

David Wagner's side will be looking to continue their unbeaten run of six SkyBet Championship games and usher in 2017 with a positive result after a frustrating encounter against Blackburn Rovers last time out.

The Latics have lost their last five league games at the DW Stadium and will be aiming to avoid a record sixth straight loss.

Boss Warren Joyce has a lengthy injury list with nine players currently sidelined but could hand a start to Ryan Colclough after recalling the winger from his season-long loan at MK Dons.

Meanwhile, for Huddersfield Town captain Mark Hudson could return but Jonathan Hogg remains out with a quad muscle strain.

Bringing you all the pre-match news and extensive match comment and analysis is Blake Welton with expert opinion as ever from Doug Thomson – so you won't miss a thing!

Signing Out

Well that’s it for today’s LIVE Blog as Doug and I head back across the Pennines - today certainly hasn’t been pretty but all that matters is the victory and three points.

Indeed, it’s been a hectic and intense festive period but nonetheless a successful one as David Wagner’s side have picked up seven points from a possible nine.

Our attention now turns to the FA Cup at the weekend as Town host League One outfit Port Vale at the John Smith’s Stadium.

We’ll be there as ever but until then, keep following the Examiner website, the Examiner Town Facebook page and @ExaminerHTAFC for all the latest Town news, views and opinion.
