On-loan Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward could well make his first appearance in a Huddersfield Town shirt against Werder Bremen on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old Welsh international, who was given extra time off following his involvement in Euro 2016, linked up with his new teammates in Austria on Sunday.

He will join them in training for the first time and then seems certain to be handed the gloves by head coach David Wagner for the friendly against the Bundesliga club in the Parkstadion at Zell am Ziller, Schwimmbadweg.

That’s close to Town’s base in Fugen, where Wagner is putting a 28-man squad through their paces.

Town have another friendly scheduled for Friday against FC Ingolstadt at the Silberstadt Arena Schwaz in Paulinumweg, and that will be their final outing before the big Championship opener against Brentford at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday, August 6.
