Huddersfield Town have got a new follower in the shape of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss brought his Reds side to the John Smith's Stadium for a pre-season encounter with best friend David Wagner, and clearly liked what he saw in Yorkshire.

Liverpool were 2-0 winners in the Shankly Trophy , but the Terriers made a big impression.

Klopp insisted after the final whistle that he leaves a fan of the club - and the stadium!

"It is important for everyone to see how wonderful the stadium is because I didn't know. Maybe a few people at the stadium today didn't know and now they do know and can come again," Klopp told HTTV.

"I am a supporter from now on of course because I like the stadium and he (Wagner) is my brother too."

It was the first time that the close friends found themselves in opposite dugouts after working closely together at Dortmund.

However, they did find themselves in opposing line ups during their playing days, and Klopp was after revenge against his old mate.

He added: "We have played against each other before by the way! He invited me to his house the night before, I went there, we had a nice talk and the next day he scored three goals against me!

"Today was a little strike back."
