Liverpool are expecting a big following for the pre-season clash with Huddersfield Town.

The plum friendly will pit David Wagner against close friend Jurgen Klopp on Wednesday July 20 (7.45pm) at the John Smith's Stadium.

Liverpool have received an allocation of 3,829 tickets and are expecting demand to be high - tickets go on sale to season ticket holders only on Thursday June 2.

Should tickets remain, official members can buy from Friday, June 3 with general sale beginning on Monday, June 6.

The two sides will contest the Shankly trophy, and if the game is level after 90 minutes, there will be a penalty shoot-out to decide the winner of the silverware named after the legendary former manager of both clubs.

Tickets are now on sale to Town fans.

It is unreserved seating in the Revel Ward main stand upper and lower tiers, and in the Fantastic Media Stand upper tier.

Prices are £15 for adults, £10 for Over 60s and £5 for Under 18s.

It is the third pre-season fixture confirmed for Wagner's Town side, who go to Guiseley on Wednesday, July 6 and Oldham Athletic on Saturday, July 16.

The head coach will also take his squad away to Sweden and Austria as part of a tough programme designed to leave the players in the best possible condition for the Championship kick off on Saturday August 6.
