FC Halifax Town have confirmed defender James Bolton’s loan has been extended until the end of the Conference Premier season.

The 20-year-old joined the Shaymen on loan from Macclesfield Town at the start of February and he has so far made seven appearances for manager Neil Aspin’s in his spell with the club.

Following a 2-0 win over table-toppers Luton Town at the weekend, the Shaymen have moved back into the top five places and they will look to further consolidate their play-off aspirations when they take on Braintree Town at The Shay tomorrow night (7.45).

The Essex club currently lie eighth in the table, but are only two points behind the Shaymen and it promises to be another big test for Aspin’s side – who are the second highest scorers in the league at home and only one home defeat in the league on their own track.

The Shaymen are fully focused on their play-off push and goalkeeper Matt Glennon said: “We mentioned the play-offs ages ago and we know what we’re like at home.

“With our away form picking up we are buzzing. The music is on in the dressing room after the game and there’s a great togetherness in the squad. I can’t wait until tomorrow’s game.”
