Chris Powell's Huddersfield Town endured a fourth successive opening day defeat against an impressive Hull City side at the KC Stadium this afternoon.

After returning to the Championship following relegation from the Premier League in May, goals from new signings Sam Clucas and on-loan Arsenal striker Chuka Akpom saw a winning start for Steve Bruce's men and end a brave Town resistance.

The Terriers played some neat football in parts but were unable to create any clear-cut chances to trouble the home side and looked to be missing wide-man Sean Scannell and forward James Vaughan - both ruled out through injury.
