TOWN Ladies returned to North East Premier League action after a good run in the FA Cup but lost 3-2 to tough Blyth Spartans.
Several regulars were missing but Town took the lead after 12 minutes through Dawn Kellett, who scored after a Michaela Jessop dummy at the near post.
It stayed 1-0 to the break, with Blyth showing nothing to trouble 14-year-old keeper Rebecca Harper, who was making her debut.
Blyth forced an equaliser on 50 minutes and, five minutes later, went 2-1 up. Their third came from a corner.
Ruth Dobson went on for Rachael Petyt to make her debut and immediately brought some pace to the flank, while Clare Hesselwood pulled a goal back.
Town's second team went down 3-0 to Silsden, while the Under 14s suffered an 8-0 loss to Sheffield United.
The Under 12s however, continued their impressive form beating Dearne Dragons 10-0.
Rachel Lockwood and Olithia Smith both struck hat tricks, while Emily Cook netted two and Molly Holman and Ophelia Donlan one apiece.
