MIDFIELD trio Tommy Miller, Damien Johnson and Oscar Gobern are set to push their claims for a return to Simon Grayson’s starting side when Huddersfield Town head to Middlesbrough for a development game tomorrow.
Miller made his comeback after surgery on a double hernia as a substitute in Saturday’s 1-0 League I defeat at Preston – his first appearance in 14 matches.
Johnson and Gobern have missed eight and 10 games respectively because of hamstring injuries, but are back in full training.
“They need to build up match fitness and sharpness, and this will be an important run-out,” said boss Simon Grayson, whose fifth-placed side will clinch a play-off place by beating Scunthorpe at the Galpharm on Saturday.
“With three league games, and hopefully three more in the play-offs, they could all play an important part this season.”
Left-back Gary Naysmith is awaiting the results of a scan on the troublesome ankle injury which has kept him out for eight games.
Loaned-out striker Jimmy Spencer will train with Town today – before returning to League II Cheltenham for Saturday’s game at Crewe.
Spencer will be available for the Robins should they make the play-offs.
