MIDFIELDER Jon Worthington is a doubt for FC Halifax Town’s FA Trophy third round clash with Chelmsford.

The 29-year-old (right) sustained a leg injury in the final action of the Shaymen’s 0-0 Blue Square North draw at home to Solihull Moors on Tuesday night – the foul on him earning Halifax a penalty four minutes into injury time but substitute Jason St Juste missed from the spot.

The former Huddersfield Town man is unlikely to play against the Blue Square South outfit from Essex and Shay boss Neil Aspin admitted: “Jon is struggling to make the side for Saturday.

“But we have had our fair share of injury problems this season and we know we can’t shy away from the battle.”

The Shaymen moved up to sixth in the table after the draw against Moors, but Aspin was left frustrated by the failure to gain a win that would have taken his side back into the play-off slots.

“The game left me very frustrated, especially when we have had the opportunity to win the game with a penalty in the fourth minute of injury time,” he said.

“But I also have to be frustrated that we hadn’t scored before that and I was disappointed not to get three points.”
