TOWN are set to bring both striker Jon Stead and winger Adam Hammill back to the club.

It's understood Huddersfield-born Town academy product Stead, a free agent after leaving Bristol City, has passed a medical while Hammill, who was loaned to Town from Wolves last season, is in talks over a permanent move from Molineux, where he is under contract for another year.

Thirty-year-old Stead – like Hammill, a former England Under 21 international – scored 24 goals in 76 games for Town to earn a £1.25m move to Blackburn in February 2004. He has also played for Sunderland, Sheffield United and Ipswich.

Hammill, 25, started out at Liverpool and played under Town manager Mark Robins at Barnsley before joining Wolves in 2011. He scored twice in his 16 Town appearances last term.
