Chris Powell is predicting more goals from Ishmael Miller.

Huddersfield Town’s January transfer window arrival from Championship rivals Blackpool bagged his first for the club to cap Tuesday’s win over Reading.

The 3-0 victory at the John Smith’s Stadium hoisted Powell’s side into the top half of the table.

Harry Bunn and Nahki Wells also notched in the manager’s 10th win in charge of Town.

But Powell was particularly pleased to see Miller make the scoresheet.

“Every striker wants to get going quickly at a new club,” said Powell of the 27-year-old ex-Manchester City, West Bromwich Albion and Nottingham Forest man.

“Ishmael has now had a couple of starts and a few cameos from the bench and he has shown what he’s about. He is popular among the group and has good qualities as a player.

“He’s quick, he takes people on and he isn’t afraid to try things.

“It was great to see him score and I think there are more goals to come from him.”

Miller is now eyeing Saturday’s game against Charlton Athletic at The Valley, where he helped Blackpool gain a 2-2 draw in December.
