MURRAY WALLACE says he can’t wait to join up with Huddersfield Town this summer.

The deadline-day signing will spend the rest of the current campaign trying to help Falkirk win promotion to the Scottish Premier League after being loaned back to the Bairns.

But the 19-year-old centre-back, who is one of the hottest prospects around North of the border, is already planning for life in West Yorkshire.

Wallace, a former Rangers junior, was signed by Lee Clark, but is more than happy at the prospect of playing under Simon Grayson at the Galpharm.

“The chairman (Dean Hoyle) has spoken to me since I signed and explained the reasons behind the managerial change,” explained Wallace, who turned down offers from Championship pair Brighton and Ipswich to agree a Town contract through to 2014.

“He believes Simon Grayson is the right man to take the club up to the Championship, and while the manager is different, nothing else has changed as far as I am concerned.

“Lee Clark was very persuasive, but the set-up and ambition here is clear for anyone to see, and I can’t wait to move down and show the new manager what I’m about.”

Wallace, who cost Town a reported £300,000 plus add-ons and watched the 1-0 win against Hartlepool, signed on the same day as Falkirk teammate Kallum Higginbotham and added: “We’ve spoken quite a few times.

“He’s given me an idea of what to expect and I’ve had a chance to look around the town, so when I do move down, I should settle in fairly easily.

“Falkirk have been great for me, and I’ll be giving everything to help them go up this season, but the best outcome would be promotions for both clubs.”

While Falkirk face Partick Thistle on Saturday, Town, just two points off League I’s automatic promotion places after beating Hartlepool 1-0, host basement side Rochdale.

Captain Peter Clarke strengthened his claims for a return following hernia surgery after figuring in yesterday’s 2-1 development match defeat at Chesterfield.
