PETER JACKSON praised the workrate and fitness which brought Town a 3-2 win at Rotherham as he launched an appeal against Andy Holdsworth's sending off.

The Town right-back faces a three-match ban, starting when Crewe visit on Saturday, after being shown a straight red card for handball after 28 minutes of last night's clash.

Chris O'Grady fired home the resultant penalty to put Rotherham back on level terms after Luke Beckett's third-minute opener.

But Beckett, with his 10th goal of the season 45 seconds into the second half, and Michael Collins, with his second of the campaign after 58 minutes, put Town back in the driving seat in front of a 4,448 derby crowd.

Ex-Town man Delroy Facey pulled one back in the 70th minute for Rotherham, but there was to be no second equaliser for the League I basement side, who had Ian Henderson red carded on 86 minutes after a second bookable offence.

Jackson, whose team moved back up to 12th after the disappointment of Saturday's 2-0 home loss to Brentford, said: "It was a terrific performance, particularly because we were down to 10 men for much of the match. Our fitness levels were excellent."
