IN CASE you are in any doubt, 59% of the Galpharm Stadium is still owned by one individual, Ken Davy.

One of the consequences of this is that we no longer see a full set of accounts for KSDL because, as a subsidiary company, it is required only to file abbreviated accounts.

Can this be right?

Can it be right that what was conceived as a community facility now continues to have only a minority shareholding for the Council and no shareholding whatsoever for the two professional clubs that use it – and pay for the privilege?

Members of the public should also be asking Kirklees Council – and don’t forget that we are approaching local elections at the beginning of May – what financial commitments it has to a private enterprise.

Despite encouraging words from senior Council representatives, there is no perceivable progress in resolving the issue of the stadium shares ownership.

The Town Supporters Association believes that a public boycott of the catering outlets at the Stadium is an effective way of bringing pressure to bear on the relevant parties and we urge all Town fans (and Giants fans, too) to maintain and, indeed, increase the boycott.

Don’t forget that without any shares in the Stadium, Huddersfield Town (and the Giants) receive no income from stadium catering.

Town supporters and the public at large need some answers from those involved in this sorry state of affairs.

So Mr Davy, Mr Hoyle and Mr Lythgo what have you to say, after a silence of some three weeks, that will give us some encouragement that the stadium shares issue will reach a satisfactory outcome?
