LEE CLARK hopes to have Tamas Kadar back in training today and fellow loan player Benik Afobe with the Town squad tomorrow.

The Galpharm boss is still waiting to see whether on-loan Arsenal striker Afobe will be allowed to face his parent club in Sunday’s big FA Cup fourth-round tie in North London, for which Town are close to selling all their 5,188 ticket allocation.

But he’s delighted the 17-year-old England junior international, who is set for a run-out with the Gunners’ reserves against Chelsea this afternoon, is due back in Huddersfield after treatment on a knee injury.

Afobe, who has three goals in 13 Town appearances, was part of the young Gunners side beaten 2-1 by Chelsea in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup last Thursday.

“Arsenal wanted to keep hold of him for a few days after that match and to check on him in the reserves (today),” said Clark, who lost 16-goal top scorer Jordan Rhodes to a knee injury on Saturday.

“He’ll travel back up North tonight and will train with us tomorrow, which is great news, more for the League I campaign than the FA Cup.

“Benik is keen to play on Sunday, and obviously we’d like to have him, but it’s Arsenal’s call, so we will wait and see.

“But to have him back for the league campaign is a big boost, and I know Beni is desperate to come back and play his part.”

Hungarian international defender Kadar has been given the green light to resume his loan stint from Newcastle after treatment on a hamstring problem.

He started Town’s wins against Plymouth and Walsall before pulling up with the injury in the first half at the Banks’s Stadium.

Intensive physio treatment at St James’ Park has done the trick, and the left-back is eligible to play for Town in the FA Cup.

His return would provide valuable options for Clark, who with both Gary Naysmith (toe) and Liam Ridehalgh (glandular fever) unavailable, played Kevin Kilbane at left-back in the goalless home draw against Colchester.

While Clark will take his squad to London on Saturday, the manager will be at the Emirates Stadium tonight to see Arsenal attempt to overturn a 1-0 deficit in their Carling Cup semi-final second leg clash with Ipswich.
