And Huddersfield Town’s new German centre-back says going without a winter break won’t be a problem.

“I’d play all year round if I could,” smiled the 25-year-old, who is fresh from skippering Dynamo Dresden to the German third-tier title.

“In the past I have come over to England to watch games during Germany’s winter break.

“Now I have the chance to play in them and that excites me.”

Hefele, who has agreed a three-year deal at Town, added: “I watched Newcastle, Aston Villa and Norwich City on TV each weekend this season.

“To be able to play against them is a great prospect and I have also been told about the Leeds derby.”
