Don't expect a name change or any other shirt than blue and white stripes at Huddersfield Town.

That’s the ‘Happy New Year’ message to fans from Town owner-chairman Dean Hoyle as he looks forward to a fruitful 2014 at the John Smith’s Stadium and Canalside.

Mindful of events at Hull City – soon to be Tigers – and Cardiff City (who now wear red shirts instead of the traditional blue), Hoyle promises Town will continue to tread a sensible path both on and off the field.

“Our model of balanced recruitment, with proven and development players brought in – plus homegrown players being given pathways – is starting to work,” said Hoyle, thanking fans and staff for their continuing support.

“In the new season so far, the first team have started to develop a style and method of passing football that I have not seen for many years at Town.

“Off the field, the staff are doing all they can in a tough climate. Their work can go unnoticed a lot of the time and deserves real credit.”

Hoyle says he is proud to be in touch with the supporters and the community.

“At a time when some have forgotten the lessons of the past and are prepared to risk financial ruin in pursuit of glory, I am proud of our approach to finances and running the club.

“Some clubs are so focused on the future that they have lost sight of their identity and see it as a barrier to progress.

“I’m proud to celebrate the heritage and history of Town – so there are no name changes or switches in the colour of the strip to worry about!”

Hoyle, who continues to fund the development of the training ground, also pledges the club’s work through the Foundation and the Keep It Up Campaign will be maintained.
